PKUSON delegate attends NLN Education Summit and workshops
Dean Shaomei Shang and three faculty members from Peking University School of Nursing (PKUSON) were invited to attend the National League for Nursing (NLN)'s 125th Anniversary: Leadership in Nursing Education at the Education Summit in Chicago, IL from September 12-14, 2018.
On September 11, the delegate also attended the Faculty Development Workshops, which were part of the Sino-American collaborative project, Simulation Leadership Institute. The project has been developed to cultivate excellent and innovative health care talents in China, and sponsored by the Ministry of Education of China and the China Academy of Contemporary Education. PKUSON hosted the first session of the training in May, 2018.
The training project has fully introduced the NLN's instructor team and classic courses, which will help to cultivate excellent simulation instructors and deepen the understanding of the application of simulation teaching in nursing education in China. Trainees of the project will be awarded instructor certificates from NLN at each stage, and are expected to greatly promote the development and innovation of simulation teaching in their own institutions.
