Established in November 2020, Aged Care Intelligence & Innovation Research Institute of Peking University Health Science Center (ACII) is headed by Academician Zhan Qimin, Dean of the Peking University Health Science Center, and Professor Shang Shaomei, Director of Peking University School of Nursing. Integrating eleven discipline resources of Peking University, gathering superior resources, and building an interdisciplinary network, ACII is affiliated with Peking University School of Nursing, the only "double first-class" nursing discipline unit in China. We focus on policy research, scientific and technological innovation, and achievement translation related to elderly health care, strive to build a world-class intelligent health care research highland with high-end talents gathering, high-tech integration, cross integration, and open sharing, respond actively to population aging, and contribute Chinese wisdom to global aging.

Policy research on elderly intelligent health care
Establishing the application technology standard of intelligent health care; undertaking national intelligent health care projects to promote the evidence-based policy-making; participating in the formulation of international standards for intelligent health care of elderly.
Scientific and technological innovation in elderly intelligent health care
Leading the original innovation of intelligent health care by integrating the internet, big data, block-chain, artificial intelligence, and 5G technology. Becoming the world power of science and technology by breaking the bottleneck of key core technology and promoting the rapid application and iterative upgrading of new technology.
Translational intelligent health care for the elderly
Strengthening the collaborative innovation with local, industry, and enterprises, guided by the demand-oriented economic and social development strategy. Focusing on the translation of scientific and technological achievements.
To build cross platforms to promote multidiscipline integration and innovation, ACII integrates eleven disciplines, including nursing, clinical medicine, basic medicine, geriatrics, rehabilitation medicine, public health and preventive medicine, medical technology, mental health, public health, engineering, informatics, and sociology of Peking University. It brings together Peking University First Hospital, People's Hospital, Third Hospital, Stomatology Hospital, Cancer Hospital, Sixth hospital, Institute of Technology, and Department of Sociology.
The Institute has built an innovative team to research intelligent health care policies and scientific and technological translation for the elderly. The team members include Changjiang Scholars of the Ministry of Education, National Outstanding Youth, young and middle-aged scientific and technological innovation leaders of the Ministry of Science and Technology, top-notch youth talents of the national "ten thousand talents plan" and new century talents of the Ministry of Education. Research programs that have been approved include the national key projects of the Ministry of Science and Technology, the National 863 programs, the National 973 program, and programs of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the Ministry of Education, and the Ministry of Civil Affairs of the People's Republic of China. The research team has gained many honors, including the China Youth Science and Technology Award, the Huaxia Medical Science and Technology Award, and the Beijing Science and Technology Progress Award, 30 invention patents, and thousands of SCI publications in international journals, including Nature, Cell, Lancet, and Science, etc.
Institute members jointly won the "Active health and aging technology response" project of the National Key R & D plan of the Ministry of Science and Technology, achieving a breakthrough of zero in the major key project of nursing discipline in the elderly care research field. In recent years, a series of other related research funds have been proved by the National Natural Science Foundation.
Based on the idea of gathering together the social forces and work collaboratively to create an intelligent, healthy, productive, and research and enterprise joint innovation mode, we have signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement with Tengyun Great Health Management Co., Ltd. We jointly build the "Peking University Cloud Care Research Center" to integrate sources, enhance equal cooperation, promote community "Internet +" service system, and establish a high-level win-win working mode, injecting new energy into the innovation and development of social transformation.
